Come help the volunteer arm of Interfaith Alliance, Many Beliefs Serving Together, with our upcoming Save-a-Cemetery project.
At locations around the state on November 16th, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is coordinating with The Black Genealogy Research Group to gather and preserve important genealogical information at historical African-American cemeteries. Their Save-a-cemetery project is an opportunity for the Interfaith Alliance to work with these groups.
Volunteers on Saturday, November 16th will record gravestone information at Trice Hill cemetery in Oklahoma City so that information about the interred can be preserved for all. Trice Hill is one of the oldest African-American cemeteries in Oklahoma City. We will be using the BillionGraves cell phone app to capture and catalog information that might otherwise be lost to history.
Please REGISTER HERE to volunteer for the Save-a-Cemetery project.
Hope to see you there!
