FAQs

IS THIS A PROTEST?

This is not a protest. On Saturday, January 21, 2017, millions will gather in Washington, D.C. and in hundreds of cities around the world. We stand together in solidarity with our partners and children for the protection of our rights, our safety, our health, and our families - recognizing that our vibrant and diverse communities are the strength of our country. We call on all defenders of human rights to join us. The Women’s March is the first step towards unifying our communities, grounded in new relationships, to create change from the grassroots level up. We will not rest until women have parity and equity at all levels of leadership in society. We work peacefully while recognizing there is no true peace without justice and equity for all.

The Women’s March Oklahoma (WMO) has a team of experienced and professional organizers working to ensure that every safety protocol is followed. Safety is of the utmost importance to us. We are striving to make this a family friendly event and ask all attendees to respect everyone. Everyone is welcome to march. We will have police escort to ensure safety.
